RELATIONSHIP QUESTION OF THE WEEK (GIRLS ONLY)

On a first date, you are going shopping with this handsome guy that looks like a perfect gentleman. You made an extra pick, without his knowledge though. It requires just a few extra bucks – let’s say N1000 (one thousand naira), and in your mind you’ve decided to take care of this particular bill. But at the payment counter, he openly disapprove of ‘your attitude of picking item(s) without my knowledge and approval’ (exactly his words). What would you do? Instantly drop the items he bought for you and walk away and out of his life? Wait till you get to some quiet place before bringing up the incidence? Girls, share your opinion please.

RELATIONSHIP QUESTION OF THE WEEK (GUYS ONLY)

After having a wonderful first date with her, you settle the waiter, and the waiter, for whatever reason, in turn hands her your balance. Straight away, she puts YOUR money into her bag, instead of giving it to you! You can’t tell if it is deliberate or not. What would you do? Ask her instantly for your money? Quietly blacklist her? Guys, share your opinion please.

Former Miss Nigeria who keeps her skin glowing by routinely drinking own urine

Former Miss Nigeria, Amina Ekpo says the secret of her polished and ever-glowing skin is in urine therapy. Simply put, Amina Ekpo maintains her skin beauty by routinely drinking her own urine.Ekpo, the 44th Miss Nigeria shares her stunning revelation in a lengthy testimonial she published on the net.

“Urine therapyis the body detoxification method at my finger tip with absolutely zero financial cost to me,” she says in the testimonial.

“detoxification involves fasting on strictly one’s own urine and the drinking of only room temperature water for a full three days (72hrs), then rubbing one’s own urine on the body day and night after bathing during those three days fast period then breaking the fast after 72 hrs subtly with fruits and vegetables and gradually returning to cooked food.”

Ekpo says urine therapy was introduced to her at age 15 as some kind of antidote against malaria and typhoid by her late father, Sir Francis Eyo Ekpo, a retired major in the Nigerian Army who once served as the chairman of Uyo local government council in Akwa Ibom State.

“While the urine therapy helped me become less sickly, I noticed it didn't stop it all together but instead I discovered that it gave my skin a fantastic glow and youthful radiance that I loved.”

“Even though I had psoriasis that affected my scalp, face and neck, it was hard to tell because I had learnt over the years how to manage it. This included controlling my exposure to intense heat from the sun, sleeping out my physical stress, then maintaining good emotional and psychological states by deep and swift forgiveness and the feelings of love and compassion.”

“People sometimes wonder why my skin looks the way it does and most times, I find it hard to tell that I believe it is influenced by the ‘original’ urine therapy that I still do at least twice a year and have maintained because of how much I love the effect it has on my skin.”
Editor’s note: The full story of Amina Ekpo’s beauty secret is in her book "Being Rooted In Your Uniqueness Helper” which could be accessed through this link: http://naturesbeautysecrets.sharepoint.com/Pages/BRIYUHPreLaunch.aspx

Senator Ita Enang's Oily Alarm Against the North

"In the Chad Basin, which surrounds Cameroun, Chad, Niger Republic and Nigeria, Niger Republic has oil within that basin, which is about 20 kilometres from the boundary of Nigeria. They have exploited oil and even have a refinery there.
It is suspected that Nigerians, big Nigerians of some extractions, own the rigs and the mining rights; and it is them- the big Nigerians, who sponsored and installed the refinery there in Niger Republic.
But instead of putting the rig on the soil in the Nigerian end of the Chad Basin, they put the rig in the Niger end and are then exploiting the oil from Niger, paying revenue to Niger Republic. It is deliberate; it is on the part of Nigeria or Nigerians who are from there. They do not allow the oil to be exploited because, in my opinion, it is to preserve that oil until the one of the South is finished."
- Senator Ita Enang,( PDP) representing Akwa Ibom Northeast, alleging a conspiracy by some people in the North to keep its oil resources while feasting on the revenue accruing from the Niger Delta.

Guards at Tomb of the Unknowns to remain on-site during hurricane

By Chris Moody
WASHINGTON—Hurricane Sandy is expected to slam the East Coast and the federal government is shut down—but the U.S. servicemen who guard the outdoor Tomb of the Unknowns at Arlington National Cemetery will remain on duty.

"They will not abandon their post," an employee who answered the Arlington Cemetery's phone confirmed to Yahoo News. He identified himself as "George," but was not authorized to speak on the record to the media.

The tomb, located just outside Washington, D.C., holds the remains of unidentified soldiers from World War I, World War II, Korea and Vietnam.

The elite sentinels selected to guard it have kept watch continuously at the site since 1948.

“I wouldn’t mind divorcing myself from twitter and facebook to please my man!” - Anita Enang

Anita Enang is a charming single young lady from Atim Ekpo in Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria. In a chat with Think Akwa Ibom! from her base in London where she has just finished a degree progamme in computing at London Metropolitan University, Anita shares ideas on how Nigerian women could sustain relationship.

If you were to have an unusual birthday offer to meet with someone you've been dreaming of, who would you choose?
Hmmm, Desmond Elliot. I Just like him.

What's the greatest gift you've ever gotten on your birthday?
Prayers from my mum, which was last year. Her Prayers were so touching.

What movie are you seeing?
Holding Hope directed byDesmond Elliot

Showing on cinema?
No, on a site called Iroko tv….. Iam a big fan of Nollywood. I watch Hollywood but not as much as Nollywood.

Now, I have to ask you this. It's typical of Nigerian men who are of age and aren't married yet to blame it on the women they have been meeting. Should women be blamed for this kind of delay?
I blame both the men and the women. No one understands the true meaning of love anymore. A six-month old marriage goes down, and everyone is scared of getting married. For the women, I think we really need to calm down with our men. No man is perfect. Nagging and (unnecessary) reaction to little things can end a ten-year old relationship. The mistake we make as women is that when we have issues with our man, the first thing we do is tell it to a friend who will give us wrong advice. And for the men, when a woman takes all their bullshit they think she's stupid. I just think men should get serious and stop playing games around.

My Akwa Ibom Story

“One thing you’ll find everywhere you go in Akwa Ibom is a lot oflaughter – on the streets, homes, workplaces, etc. It’s really rare to see people fighting on the streets of Uyo or any other city in Akwa Ibom, like I do see in some states in Nigeria each time I travel. Laughter is in abundant supply here, and it’s one of the many things that make me proud of my origin….. That is my Akwa Ibom story!
