A
new rector has been appointed for Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic, Ikot Osura.
A
press release signed by a principal assistant registrar, (Information/PR) in
the school, Mr. Anietie Etteyit, says the new rector, Barrister Israel Benson Affia, is the former
Director, School of Preliminary Studies in the polytechnic.
Israel
Benson Affia was born in 1954 and is a chief lecturer in the school. He holds a
Masters Degree (LLM) in Law and is one of the pioneer staff who started the
Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic in 1991.
He
takes over from Akparawa Sylvester Akpan, PhD, who is winding up his second
term in mid January 2013.
