“Angels are celestial,” Emmanuel Agbai said of wife, on facebook, three days before he died on his power bike

Family members, friends and co-workers have been mourning Mr. Emmanuel Agbai, the director of Operations & Projects at Bush House Nigeria who died last weekend in a road accident while riding on his power bike in Abuja.

Oby Agbai, obviously a relative of the late Emmanuel Agbai laments on facebook: “The clock is ticking fast and I have not heard from Emma oooooh. Somebody please wake him up and make him know we are waiting.”

Ms Ugo Dawn Chiori, a renowned baker in Uyo: “I can’t believe I’m writing R.I.P on your (facebook) wall.... Speechless!”

Meflyn ‘LyN’ Mbom, Akwa Ibom-born gospel singer: “This is really pathetic. Rest in the Lord.”

Unyime-Ivy King, a renowned writer and author, says Mr. Agbai’s death is the worst news she has heard this year, “because Emma was a brother and he loved the Lord.”

Even as details on the tragedy continue to emerge, Think Akwa Ibom! has made some startling, yet emotional discoveries about Emmanuel Agbai’s last days.

Two days before his tragic dead, Agbai posted on facebook a photo of his wife, Blessing wearing a red sweater on black trouser. “I love this damsel,” he commented on the photo, to which his friend on facebook, Ebuka Melvin responded, “u have to cos she is the thing that put smile on ur face.”  But with a romantic tone, one that may no doubt bring back more pain and tears, Agbai wrote back, “Thing????? I doubt. Angels are not referred to as things, they are celestial.”

The facebook post was to hit hard on one Eby Sylvia Orunta when she read through it after Agbai’s death. “OMG u didn't remember ur damsel Emma? U left her all alone in dis sinful world. Just 2days after u uploaded dis pix u r no longer here 2 reply. OH death u ve done ur worst,” she wrote.

Late Agbai married his wife, Blessing last year, December 29. He died 21 days to the first anniversary of his marriage.

A facebook conversation last month between late Emmanuel Agbai and one Janet Etta seems to provoke even more emotions.

On November 6, Emmanuel Agbai posted on facebook a photo of himself on his power-bike while justifying the need to own one. “Your time in life is maximized, you save 7 xtra days in a year frm traffic jams, no queuing for fuel, free from ‘one chance’ robbers, no police, vio or road safety harassment, you are the envy of many.” 

No sooner than Agbai posted the photo and his comment, the following revealing conversation ensued between him and Janet Etta.

 

Janet Etta: Sorry to say this, i hate power bike cos it killed a frnd. I like seein pple on it, but cnt own it lol. Sorry gudmrng.

Emmanuel Agbai: Jane we take the fact that you like people on it, "something must kill a man" sorry for your friend, death is a choice, if you doubt me ask God and He will answer u I psalms 91. Thanks.

Janet Etta: Is no true frnd, he died bicos he overspeeded, his break failed him n that's it. A new bike he bought. Though it was internal bleeding dat killed him finally. It's ok but i like watching plle ride it tho no mmwa.

Emmanuel Agbai: If we may ask: please who is this your friend, it’s rare for bikers to fail breaks, especially the front, and you said A new bike? Bikes don't over speed, it was built for that, the control is in one's maturity and Faith in God.

Janet Etta: Well it's a long time ago. His name is junior
