The Attorney-General and Commissioner
for Justice in Akwa Ibom State, Barrister Ekpenyong Ntekim has announced through
his facebook page, the retirement of 19 law officers from the state ministry of
justice.
Ekpenyong Ntekim listed the names of the
affected law officers as Augustine Edet Akpan, Kingsley Udo Ekwere, Iniobong Michael George, Edet Okon Essang,
Essien Okon Ninedays, Eme Ekanem Ukpong, Ema Tom Udonsek, and Kingsley Udongo Edoho.
Others are: Uko Akpan D. Isaiah, Albert Emmanson, Udemeobong Effiong Utong,
Uduak Emmanuel Etuk, Etim Daniel Okon, Uduak Udofia Malachy Eyo, Josiah Edet

Essien.
The commissioner who posted the
information in the early hours of last Wednesday indicated that the retirement
took effect on 14 February, 2013. He did not however specify their offense nor their age bracket.
In an apparent effort to justify why he
took to facebook for the announcement, Ntekim who has just 736 friends and 78
followers on the popular social media network says “before it is heard from other sources, with expected misinterpretations
and ascription of mala fide, I have the painful obligation of stating that 19
Law Officers who served in various capacities under me in the Ministry of
justice until the 14th February 2013 have been retired by the Government of Akwa Ibom
State.”
“To some of my esteemed colleagues
(including personal friends), being in sync with the tempo of the
administration was a huge learning curve of immense consequences,” the
commissioner wrote.
Digital rascality. The action of the AG/ Comm for Justice is inelegant and indefensible.
ReplyDeleteIt's so unfortunate that our state and its government has turned the state to a centre of myopic and ridiculous theatre of shame and ridicule where things and laws are paid no decency and respect to. It'sw a sham to say the least and most uncivilised.
