Daily Independent correspondent in Uyo, Akwa Ibom, Mr. Aniefiok Macaulay is among the latest personalities to join the heated argument over the strained relationship between Mr. Frank Okon and his former lawyer, Mr. Andem Ndem, and he has some harsh words for Ndem who has filed a lawsuit against Okon in an Abuja high court.

“Frank says from the agreement they had, he is owing Andem N2.2 million and the cash is available for Andem to pick up when he so wishes but Andem is claiming N50 million for a case he never won,” Aniefiok Macaulay wrote last Wednesday, 24 April, 2013 on Ibom Forum, an online discussion group hoisted on Yahoo! platform.

“A case he never won,” as used by Macaulay, is an apparent reference to Andem Ndem’s prosecution of Frank Okon’s two-year old or so court case challenging the 2011 PDP primaries that Governor Godswill Akpabio won before he was re-elected in the general election that same year. Okon, a cost engineer and a politician, stood against Godswill Akpabio in the primaries.

“If we are talking about out of court settlement, how do you settle such an issue? Okay maybe Andem will reduce it to say N20 million and Frank will say okay I will pay N10 million just to compromise. I think Frank is a gentleman who also knows his right and how to handle issues of agreement,” says Macaulay.
