Ibom Development Network (IDN) has asked supporters of Umana
Okon Umana to ‘fully participate’ in PDP’s ward congresses which is taking
place today, Saturday, October 1, throughout Akwa Ibom State. The purpose of
the ward congresses is to produce the ad hoc delegates that will vote to
produce the party flagbearers in the 2015 general elections.
IDN which is the campaign organisation of the former
Secretary to the Akwa Ibom State Government (SSG) gave the directive in a press
statement issued last night by its secretary-general, Elder Ntieyong Inyangmme.
Umana is the leading PDP aspirant for the forthcoming
governorship primaries of the party.
“IDN requests its members to fully mobilise for the election
and be vigilant to defend their votes”, the statement says, adding that “the
election is expected to be free and fair in keeping with the position of the
Party for an all inclusive election that is also free and fair.”
