Gov’ election: Youths queue inside Government House for Akpabio’s bribe

Bribe scandal in Akwa Ibom PDP

By Nse Peter

Governor Godswill Akpabio flung open the gate of Government House, Uyo, on Easter Monday as hundreds of youths in the capital city walked in freely to collect wads of naira notes meant as bribe to buy support for his party, the Peoples Democratic Party, in the forthcoming April 11 governorship election.

PDP candidate, Mr. Udom Emmanuel is trailing behind the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Mr. Umana Okon Umana, according to opinion polls.
Gen Muhammadu Buhari’s victory in the just concluded presidential election has added momentum to the governorship campaign of the All Progressives Congress in Akwa Ibom State, thereby causing jittery in the camp of PDP in the state.
Several youths who benefited from the Akpabio’s bribe told Think Akwa Ibom! that the governor personally supervised the sharing of the money to the youths who formed long lines of queues inside the Government House for the exercise.
