Photo of a weeping Unoma Akpabio goes viral on Internet

Mrs. Unoma Akpabio

Did Governor Godswill Akpabio’s wife, Unoma drop some tears when she learned that the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari had defeated President Goodluck Jonathan?

No one can tell, for sure. But one photo that is being shared around online shows a weeping Unoma Akpabio, surrounded by PDP supporters, mopping her face with a white handkerchief. Some of the persons passing the photo around claimed that the Akwa Ibom First Lady wept when she heard that Muhammadu Buhari won the presidential election.
Mr. Franklyn Isong, the publisher and editor-in-chief of The Radar, an influential newspaper in Akwa Ibom State, posted the photo on his Facebook page on Monday night, and commented thus: “Tears freely flow over Buhari's victory at presidential polls…. Is this for real?” Mr. David Augustine, the editor-in-chief of Weekly Insight also shared the photo on his Facebook page. He advised Mrs. Unoma Akpabio, “Be Strong. Weep not yet, the new president may just show mercy!”
