Akpabio is a bastard – Don Etiebet

By Nse Peter

Peoples Democratic Party leader from Akwa Ibom State, Mr. Don Etiebet has hit hard on Mr. Godswill Akpabio, calling the Akwa Ibom governor ‘a bastard’ and ‘habitual known liar’.
If he denies being a bastard, ask him to take you to his father’s compound or house or the father’s grave in Ukana, Essien Udim Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State or anywhere else in the world to prove otherwise,” Don Etiebet who is a member of PDP Board of Trustees said in a statement personally signed by him, on Monday.

Etiebet who apparently was responding to Godswill Akpabio allegedly calling him a traitor and a poor manager, said “I am not a traitor and a poor manager in any ramification, either in politics or business.”
He said, “I am sure that the people who know my pedigree in my politics of selflessness, inclusiveness and sacrifices for others and in my business of developing people like Governor Godswill Akpabio can bear me out. Rather as a successful business man in my ICT profession and in National political leadership, people do betray and deceive me.”
Etiebet said he doesn’t want to regret the sacrifices he made to ensure that Akpabio became governor in 2007.
“Everybody who has come across him (Akpabio) and helped him to be what he is today knows that he is an ingrate and a deceit, while he relishes in careless talks to appease and amuse his select audience for applause,” said Etiebet, a former petroleum minister, who alongside other PDP leaders in Akwa Ibom like the former governor of the State, Mr. Victor Attah have been at loggerhead with Governor Akpabio.
Both Don Etiebet and Victor Attah, including several other PDP leaders in Akwa Ibom State openly supported the opposition All Progressives Congress’ candidate, Mr. Umana Okon Umana during the April 11, 2015 governorship election, to show their grievances against Akpabio’s disregard for elders and imposition of candidates for the governorship, senate, House of Representatives and House of Assembly elections in the state.
Etiebet and Attah support the claim of APC that there were no governorship and House of Assembly elections in Akwa Ibom State on April 11, 2015.
“We shall know who would laugh last when he comes out of the governorship and his immunity is gone,” Etiebet said in the public statement.

  1. Someone needs to educate Etiebet that you can't call someone uncouth and accuse them of lacking manners while being uncouth and mannerless yourself. So, let's say gov. Akpabio does not know his father's house, how does that make him a lesser human being? Don Etiebet has only succeeded in proving what a discriminatory, biased, classless and uncouth fellow he his with this baseless outburst in the media.

  2. This is uncalled for. Why call someone..a leader for that matter a bastard? So what he is a bastard? Ain't bastards humans anymore. This just confirms etiebet leadership qualities; he really couldn't care for the less privileged if put on seat. Etiebet is just a proud fellow who cannot control his choice of words.

  3. Etiebet! You have started again. Why can't this man leave Akpabio alone? This is pure jealousy. He knows that he can never ever be like Akpabio. He can never achieve all Akpabio has achieved and the people of Akwa ibom state can never love him like they love Akpabio. I have nothing to say to Etiebet coz he has a really wide mouth and he seem to always have meaningless things to accuse Akpabio of.

  4. Such words are uncalled for. Etiebet sound like a grumpy old man who miss his dinner. we've always know Etiebet to be a loud mouth, but its quite shameful that someone of his caliber is unable to conduct himself in the usage of words. what concerns someones father inside all these matters? SMH

  5. How ludicrous, you call someone a bastard and yet your conduct epitomizes the very word you accuse another of being. Our Politicians are uncontrolled in their conduct and words, that's why we see all sort of trash talk here and there. Shame on you Etiebet!!

  6. So yeah he wants us to remember that he paved the way for Akpabio to become Governor?, who doesn't know?. I had a bit of respect for this man, up till the recent outburst, and i can say i am highly disappointed because i expected more of him as a leader both to my fellow Akwa-Ibom people and the Country as a whole.

  7. Whether Etiebet or Attah, or whatever they are called, they should better remain quiet and allow us drink water and drop cup. Let me hear politics of selflessness, iyaah. In Nigeria or where ? Infact, Etiebet is the most selfish politician for this kind of utterances. Simply because the governor disagreed with you. LMAO
