The incident occurred in Ikot Abia village, Mkpat Enin Local
Government Area, Akwa Ibom State.
“A cast on my set
mistakenly struck the royal gong of Ikot Abia village, (a village location we
are filming),” Eskor wrote on Facebok. “This brought conflict between the
production management and the village council”
Eskor said he begged the village youths who successfully
intervened on their behalf, after which he sought to know more about the
tradition which they broke.
“I was told that we cannot use an artist (a stranger) to act
the role of playing the village gong as the original
village gong cannot be stuck by a visitor
“I was also warned that the village is not a
careless community, before the gong sounds there are some materials that must
be given, which includes two bottles of native schnapps, a native fowl, kola
nut and a jar of palm wine.”
