Tosin Lamidi, a 21-year old man who burgled a woman’s apartment and stole her computer and phone has been arrested after the victim, Gift Nseobong contacted and lured him with a sex offer in exchange for her sim card in Lagos.
The burglary incident took place at 8 Mutiatu Okesalu road, Ikotun, Lagos, Nseobong's resident.
Lamidi is said to have been arrested at Ikotun Roundabout went to meet Nseobong, where they had agreed to meet before taking her to a hotel for the sexual escapade.
From information gathered, Lamidi was alleged to have broken into Nseobong house, stole the items, sold them but retained the SIM card, and has been using it to receive and make calls.
After purchasing a new SIM Nseobong called the stolen sim and Lamidi picked. She pleaded with the suspect to return the sim card because of the vital contacts whose numbers were store on the Sim card.
Lamidi then requested to have sex as the only option in exchange for returning the SIM card to her and she agreed.
They arranged to meet at Ikotun roundabout from where he will take her to the hotel for a sexual romp before returning the card.
But, Lamidi ran of luck and was arrested by the police officers attached to the Ikotun division of the Lagos Police command.
He has been charged and arraigned before a Lagos High Court in Ejigbo and charged with conspiracy and stealing under the Lagos State criminal Justice Code. The defendant pleaded not guilty.
The presiding Judge, Mrs. J.O.E Adeyemi granted him bail in the sum of N50,000 with one surety in like sum.
The accused has been remanded in prison custody pending when he perfects his bail and the matter adjourned till 22nd Of July for further hearing.
