AKTC resumes operations, increases transport fares


A leading transport company in Akwa Ibom state, Akwa Ibom Transport Company (AKTC) has resumed operations, following the lifting of ban on interstate travel in Nigeria.

Passengers wanting to travel by AKTC bus must wear facemask and abide by other COVID-19 safety guidelines, the company management said.
The transport company has, however, announced an increase in their fares to different locations across Nigeria.
The fare from Uyo to Calabar, Cross Rivers state, which used to be around N1,200 before the COVID-19 pandemic, is now N2,000.

No facemasks, no entry/boarding
Passengers reduced from 15 to 9 per trip
Travel fare increased:
Uyo - Calabar N2,000
Uyo - Portharcourt N2,700
Uyo - Umuahia N2,500
Uyo - Enugu N4,500
Uyo - Warri N5,500
Uyo - Benin N6,500
Uyo - Bayelsa N4,500
Uyo - Owerri N3000
Uyo - Lagos N11,000
Uyo - Abuja N11,000
Uyo - Jos N13,000
