Essence magazine honoured Oprah Winfrey with the Power Award at the 6th
Annual Essence Black Women in Hollywood Luncheon last Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013, in
Beverly Hills Hotel, Los Angeles. Oprah was joined on the red carpet by
students from her Leadership Academy for Girls in South Africa.
Oprah’s whole life, we are proud to say, symbolizes that
of purpose, power and commitment to service. We in THINK AKWA IBOM! stand up
for Oprah this very moment, and we are saying congratulations to a great black
woman who has inspired many in the world over to think and act positively.
Again, congratulations to our dear Oprah Winfrey!
