The Secretary to the Government of Akwa Ibom State, Mr. Umana Okon Umana in
a display of humility rarely seen among Nigerian political class, took to
facebook to send birthday message to a young man from Akwa Ibom, Mr. Henry
Akpabio who is his friend on facebook.
“Henry is an amazing young man with unstoppable potential for leadership and greatness,” Umana Okon Umana wrote, Sunday, 12 April, 2013 on his own facebook page. “He is honest, sincere, humble, courageous and hardworking. I am humbled by his love and commitment to our dear state.”
Henry Akpabio is the coordinator of Friends Of Umana Okon Umana On Facebook, an
assemblage of young people from Akwa Ibom who are using facebook to promote
good governance and equal opportunity in Akwa Ibom.
“Henry is an amazing young man with unstoppable potential for leadership and greatness,” Umana Okon Umana wrote, Sunday, 12 April, 2013 on his own facebook page. “He is honest, sincere, humble, courageous and hardworking. I am humbled by his love and commitment to our dear state.”
“Henry loves our dear state and his friends with all heart and he is not
apologetic,” the SSG wrote.
Umana concluded his birthday message to Henry Akpabio in an optimistic and
solemn tone, stating “I have no doubt in my mind that Henry has a very bright
future. Our God will pleasantly surprise him in the years to come. I dare say
that because he has shown love and commitment to others, Henry will attract to
his life God's blessings of love, peace and abundance. I feel proud that I can
count you as one of my special friends. God bless you.”
In his response to the SSG, still on facebook, Henry Akpabio said “This is
the greatest gift on my birthday. God bless you sir for this hounour”.

He and a handful of some of his friends started and operated the online
group for several years without the knowledge of the Akwa Ibom SSG, and without
any contact with him. And they have been very successful in using the group to
showcase various infrastructural projects of the Governor Godswill Akpabio
administration in Akwa Ibom State.
Touched by their selflessness to the ‘Akwa Ibom Project’, the SSG made a
surprised appearance at a dinner organized last February at EMJMM Hotels, Uyo
by Friends
Of Umana Okon Umana On Facebook, where he had an interactive session
with about 3,000 enthusiastic Akwa Ibom youths. (Read the story about the event

Mr Umana Okon Umana is a perpetual lesson in courageous, selfless and loyal service to God and humanity and we are proud to learn at his feet. A study of his life has given me an insight into how hardwork, God's grace, diligence and being meticulous can make a mortal to achieve greatness. Truly a brighter and rewarding future beckons to Akwa Ibom people and the entire Nigerians through the tireless exertion of this man of destiny. I am eternally grateful to him for this uncommon show of love. God bless him.

ReplyDeleteThis is very amateurish political jobbing. I can bet Henry Akpabio is a payrolled praise- singer. To say Mr Umana does not know him is like saying Governor Akpabio doesn't know Aniekan Umanah or White Bom Bom. The very profitable sycophancy is a bane of our democracy. Our young men should use their education for better endeavours than idle worship of the same dyed-in-the wool politicians. Such a shame. Akwa Ibom Mbom ata eti eti!
