For failing to make a come-back to the Akwa Ibom State Executive Council, the immediate past commissioner for works, Mr. Don Etim has been compensated with the chairmanship position of the newly constituted Ikot Ekpene Local Government Transition Committee.

Etim who was beaten by Mr. Etido Inyang in a keenly contested race for commissioner in the State Executive Council, was asked by the immediate past governor, Chief Godswill Akpabio to nominate someone for the chairmanship position, Ikot Ekpene Local Government Transition Committee. He quickly nominated his nephew, Mr. Unyime Etim who had served him as his personal assistant while he (Don) was the commissioner for works.

Inyang is the commissioner for special duties. During Akpabio’s administration he was the governor’s special assistant on technical matters.

Meanwhile, in a related development, the University of Uyo law lecturer, Mr. Ekokoi Solomon who unsuccessfully contested the PDP primaries against the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly member, Mr. Onofiok Luke (Nsit Ubium State Constituency) has also been compensated for his loss at the primaries. He is now a supervisor in the newly inaugurated Nsit Ubium Local Government Transition Committee.

Mr. Unyime Etim, Chairman, Ikot Ekpene Local Govt Transition Committee
