Akpabio’s in-law Mike Sabastine faults Udom’s election

By Nse Peter

Mr. Mike Sabastine who is an in-law to the immediate past governor of Akwa Ibom State, Chief Godswill Akpabio has faulted the election of Governor Udom Emmanuel, describing it as an ‘error’.

Sabastine who contested the 2015 Akwa Ibom PDP governorship primaries is married to Uduak, a niece to Sir Emem Akpabio. He was a frontline member of G22, a body formed by aggrieved PDP governorship aspirants in the state who lost out at the party primaries due to Godswill Akpabio’s manipulation of the electoral process.
“The emergence of Udom is an error,” Sabastine said in a tweet he sent out, Tuesday.
“My Akwa Ibom people need to understand that as an in-law to Senator Akpabio, and a G22 I do not support how the elections were held,” he tweeted, adding that “the recklessness of our state government can never be understood.”
Sabastine posted on twitter, photographs showing ruffled ballots papers with a caption that “Whatever the outcome of the tribunal. God's will will always prevailed (in) #AkwaIbom but still, let's not forget these.”
Both international and local observers have adjudged the last general elections in Akwa Ibom as being below standard, marred by massive rigging and violence. The APC governorship candidate in the state, Mr. Umana Okon Umana is challenging the outcome of the election in the tribunal.
