renowned professor of Economics and former secretary to the then Cross River

Ignatius Isaac Ukpong is dead.
Ukpong,
from Onna Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, may have died on Wednesday,
6 March in a private hospital in Enugu State where he went through surgery to
