Breaking News: Uwak accuses Governor Akpabio of attempting to assassinate him

The member representing Oron Federal Constituency, Akwa Ibom State, in the National Assembly, Mr. Robinson Uwak has raised alarm over alleged attempt on his life.

Robinson Uwak said few hours ago on Facebook that gunmen stormed his country home in Udung-Ukpong yesterday. He said the attack wasn’t a coincidence because he was scheduled to be at his country home that yesterday.

The Representative, who did not give details of the alleged attack, however said Governor Godswill Akpabio of Akwa Ibom State was behind it. “I want to use this medium to inform Governor Akpabio and his agents of terror that not even a combination of Al-Qaeda and ISIS can silent the voice of the Oro Ethnic Nationality,” Uwak said, and went ahead to ask rhetorically, “Governor Godswill Obot Akpabio have you not done Oro enough harm?”
Mr. Uwak, known for his consistent and fierce criticisms of the Akpabio administration for not developing roads and other infrastructure in the four local government areas – Oron, Mbo, Urue Offong/Oruko, and Okobo – that make up the Oron Federal Constituency, said in the Facebook post that an attack on the member representing Oro Nation is an attack on the Oro Ethnic Nationality.

Uwak defected recently from Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to All Progressives Congress (APC) when it became obvious that his former party, because of Akpabio’s influence, would not allow him go back to the House of Representatives in Abuja. He is now the APC candidate for the Oron Federal Constituency election, and looks good to win the election because of the deteriorating relationship between the Oro ethnic group and Akpabio’s PDP.

  3. I dey laugh oh! according to Obj. so Uwak says Gov Akpabio is behind his attempted assassination?, how can he prove this?, or is he just playing guessing games?, how do we even know if it wasn't stage managed?. in any which way, i find the series of unfounded and incessant attacks on the Governor quite distasteful.
