A controversial media consultant in Akwa Ibom State, Mr. Uwem Umanah has lost his first son to the cold hand of death.
The little boy, Master Emmanuel Uwem Umanah, according to family sources, died in their family home, Tuesday, in Mbiabong, Uyo. He was seven years old.

“The boy wasn’t sick. There was no sign that he was sick. This is shocking and devastating to us,” a family member told Think Akwa Ibom!
Uwem Umanah and his family is said to have quietly buried Emmanuel’s remains within their home, on Thursday.
Umanah who is the younger brother of the Akwa Ibom Commissioner for Information & Communications, Mr. Aniekan Umanah, occupied the spotlight on Internet around September last year when he scornfully described the former governor of Akwa Ibom State, Obong Victor Attah as being ‘senile’.
“What's the meaning of senility? In my context, senility means, ‘Weakness of the brain resulting from old age’. Having defined senility, how many elders do their brains get stronger from their 70s? While I don't expect mine to be, Attah's can't be either!” Umanah had explained, while sticking to his position, despite pleas and objections by many.
Umanah’s attack on Attah prompted several Akwa Ibom people to take to Internet to rain curses on the commissioner’s brother.
One Joyce Edem, commenting on Facebook, said to Umanah: “Uwem, this is a good reason why you or any member of your family will never get to 70 years”.
Another commentator, NsikakAbasi Etuk, said also on Facebook: “As far as I am concerned, Uwem is nobody. He doesn’t respect old age. None of his siblings or his children or him will not reach the age of 60 IJN”.
