“I’ll die for Akpabio, instead of him to go to prison”

An Akwa Ibom man has said that he was ready to die for Godswill Akpabio instead of the former Akwa Ibom governor to go prison as being speculated in the social media.

A relatively unknown Idorenyin Edet stated, Tuesday, on Facebook “Akpabio cannot go to prison for that I’ll rather die for him.” He was commenting on a Think Akwa Ibom! satirical photo of Akpabio in turbulent waters, with the caption ‘….Akpabio swimming to U.S in stormy ocean’.

Mr. Akpabio who is now a senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria is yet to return from abroad where he went for medical treatment after he had a car crash recently in Nigeria, thereby fueling speculations that he may be running away from the law in Nigeria.

“Kirikiri maximum Prison is Akpabio’s final destination,” one Ekemini Akpan had commented on the Think Akwa Ibom! post.

Mr. Edet who defended Senator Akpabio described him as “a mentor to all the governors in the country”.

He said he has neither met nor collected money before from Akpabio, but that he just love him so much.

“I wish to have the same governor again and again,” he said.
