Nollywood Movie Director, Moses Eskor's Strange Encounter While On Set In Akwa Ibom Village

By Nse Peter
Ace Nollywood movie producer from Akwa Ibom State, Mr. Moses Eskor said he and his crew incurred the wrath of elders and youths in a remote village in Akwa Ibom State for breaking an age-long tradition in the village.

The incident occurred in Ikot Abia village, Mkpat Enin Local Government Area, Akwa Ibom State.
“A cast on my set mistakenly struck the royal gong of Ikot Abia village, (a village location we are filming),” Eskor wrote on Facebok. “This brought conflict between the production management and the village council”
Eskor said he begged the village youths who successfully intervened on their behalf, after which he sought to know more about the tradition which they broke.
“I was told that we cannot use an artist (a stranger) to act the role of playing the village gong as the original village gong cannot be stuck by a visitor
“I was also warned that the village is not a careless community, before the gong sounds there are some materials that must be given, which includes two bottles of native schnapps, a native fowl, kola nut and a jar of palm wine.”

Eskor continued: “The materials were given, but the village council still insisted that the original village gong player must be the one to play the gong in the production. I had no choice but to accept the condition.
“I spent time to give the old man some acting orientation. We finished the scene successfully. But the wahala did not end there; the old village gong player now said he enjoys acting. He now needs more movie roles. In fact, he wants to be a star.”

  1. See as the man dey. AIDS patient looks healthier than a "normal" person in an Akwa Ibom State that is OK in the eyes of the PDP. See the deception?
