Akwa Ibom senator received praises for attending newspaper vendor’s thanksgiving service

Obong Bassey Albert, the Senator representing Uyo Senatorial District, on Sunday displayed humility rarely found among politicians in Akwa Ibom, as he attended a Church thanksgiving service organised by one Mr. Ndifreke, said to be a newspaper vendor in Uyo.

According to a Facebook post by Uyo-based journalist and publisher, Imo Udoima, the thanksgiving service took place at Winners Chapel, Nung Ikono Obio, Uruan, in Akwa Ibom state.

Many people who read the Facebook post commended the senator for such show of humility and kindness.

“Commendable. Humility is everything. Not minding the class. Others should learn from this act,” one Iberedem Akpan wrote.

“This is who you are, don't let politics take it away. Love you, Senator Bassey Albert,” said another person who commented on the post.
