Community parades pastor accused of burying charms in someone’s house

A man said to be a pastor in Ugep, Yakurr Local Government Area of Cross River state has been paraded in a community after he was allegedly caught burying charms in someone’s house.

The story, published by CrossRiverWatch, identified the man as Prophet Paul Abam.

The incident happened on Monday, June 15, the online paper said.

In the photos published by the paper, the community people decorated the ‘prophet’ with some dried leaves. His face was slightly painted with a black substance that looked like charcoal.

He carried a wooden item on his head, as he walked round the village, an exercise that was likely meant to punish him and to shame him for the alleged ‘crime’.

Mr Abam is said to have been a pastor in Presbyterian Church, Ugep, before he left to start his own church called Pastor Paul Ministry.
