The Akwa Ibom governor, Udom Emmanuel has appointed a
new managing director for the Ibom Airport Development Company Ltd.
He is Uwem Ekanem who is also going to serve as a
senior special assistant on aviation development to Governor Emmanuel.
Ibom Airport Development Company Ltd is the operator
of the Victor Attah International Airport, Uyo, which is home to Ibom Air, a commercial
airline owned by the Akwa Ibom state government.
Mr Ekanem has been acting as the MD of the company
before now.
Meanwhile, the Ibom Airport Company has alerted
members of the public to the activities of fraudsters who lure people with fake
job offers in the company.
“Members of the public are encouraged to report any of
such fraudulent attempts on them to security agencies,” Mr Ekanem said in a recent
statement.
