Member representing Itu State Constituency, Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Mr. Idongesit Ituen has accused the Commissioner for Justice in the state, Mr. Uwemedimo Nwoko of abandoning his responsibilities to pursue personal interest in politics, says a news report published in the official Facebook page of the State Assembly.

The report says Ituen spoke hard against Nwoko while contributing to a debate on the gruesome murder of one Mr. Daniel from Uruan Local Government Area whose body was dismembered and dumped in the gutter by his killer said to be an Igbo businessman resident in Uyo, the capital of Akwa Ibom State.  The lawmaker, according to the report, said it was the duty of the state attorney-general to have looked into the case first before the House of Assembly step in.

The state attorney-general, Nwoko temporarily relocated to Abuja to be part of the PDP and Governor Udom Emmanuel’s legal team at the Akwa Ibom Election Petition Tribunal.

Ituen is quoted as saying that it was pitiful that the state attorney-general has abandoned his official responsibility for political and pecuniary interest.
