AKHA Reinstates Suspended LG Boss


The Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly has reinstated the suspended Chairperson of Nsit Atai Local Government Area, Lady Emem Ibanga with immediate effect.

The Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, has passed a Bill into Law for the provision of free tuition and examination fees for pupils in all Public Primary and Secondary Schools in the state.

A’Ibom House of Assembly dissolves LG councils

The Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly has dissolved the 31 local government councils in the state even as it directed the council chairmen to handover all government properties to their councils’ Heads of Service by July 10.

There was no counter vote by the members except for the position of Deputy Speaker where the contest was between Hon Felicia Bassey of Okobo and Hon Effiong Asuquo of Oron.

Kufre Etuk, member representing Uruan State Constituency in the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, has reportedly picked the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket to represent the party in the election for the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly. Etuk defected from his former party, PDP, after Governor Godswill Akpabio and his powerful family conspired to deny him the PDP ticket the 2015 election.
