Police raid hotel in Uyo, arrest 50 prostitutes

Police in Akwa Ibom State is said to have, on Friday, raided a local hotel, KU Guest House, in Uyo and arrested no fewer than 50 young women said to be commercial sex workers in the hotel premises.

The hotel is located off Nsikak Edouk Avenue, in Uyo, the capital of Akwa Ibom State.
A staff of the hotel who spoke to Think Akwa Ibom! on telephone said about seven policemen who came in a Toyota Hilux stormed the hotel around 8:25pm.
“They kicked open the doors and arrested the girls,” the hotel staff said. “The men that were inside the rooms with the girls were also arrested.”
