16-year-old girl reportedly swept away by flood in A’Ibom


Amarachi, 16, is said to have been drowned by flood around Afaha Ube, Ikot Ekpene Road in Uyo during a heavy downpour on Thursday, September 10, 2015, when she attempted to cross a road, says a report written by Victoria Akpabio and published in the Nigerian Pulse newspaper.

1,959 flood victims in Akwa Ibom get N50,000 each



Akwa Ibom State government has provided financial assistance to 1,959 flood victims in Eket and Uyo, according to Mrs Sylvia Ekpo, Permanent Secretary, Deputy Governor’s Office.
