Umana Okon Umana

Last weekend, after a week of political upheavals in the state which saw the ouster of former Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Umana Okon Umana from office, he has assured his supporters that no amount of blackmail will stop him from contesting the 2015 Governorship election.
Umana was dropped as SSG on July 29 for allegedly declaring to contest the 2015 governorship election while occupying the SSG.

Umana who The Sensor gathered was represented by the Coordinator of Great Akwa Ibom Project (GAP), Abom Tony Esu during the meeting held at Millionaires Club, Uyo said the rumours that he may not contest the 2015 election was baseless and unfounded and should be ignored by his supporters.
He added that his ambition and support base was intact maintaining that there was no retreat, no surrender for him as far as the election was concerned.

Umana urged his supporters to move into the nooks and crannies of the communities to convince the people to vote for him at the election. Former members of Federal House of Representatives, Mr. Peter Linus Umoh who represented Oron nation and Mr. Dan Akpan who spoke for Etinan Federal Constituency at the meeting urged the groups to come together and work for the emergence of Obong Umana Umana.
The meeting we learnt was attended by more than 65 out of the 200 support groups for Umana .
