Akpabio’s pact with Udom: Unoma to replace Moses as deputy governor, if PDP wins

Akwa Ibom First Lady, Mrs. Unoma Akpabio

By Nse Peter
Governor Godswill Akpabio is secretly pushing for his wife, Unoma, to become the deputy governor of Akwa Ibom State if the Peoples Democratic Party candidate, Udom Emmanuel wins the forthcoming governorship election in Akwa Ibom State, Global Concord newspaper has reported.

Global Concord, in its midweek edition, reported that the First Lady’s ambition of becoming a deputy governor of Akwa Ibom State formed part of a secret pact that Godswill Akpabio allegedly had with Mr. Udom Emmanuel, before the governor adopted Emmanuel as his preferred aspirant within PDP. “In the agreement, six months into the leadership of Udom Emmanuel, he shall remove Mr. Moses Ekpo as the deputy governor, and give the position to his wife, Unoma,” wrote Global Concord which is an influential and most widely read community newspaper in the State.
Udom Emmanuel must also allow Akpabio have unhindered access to N5billion every month from the Akwa Ibom State treasury when Mr. Emmanuel becomes the governor, the paper said in the report. The report went further to reveal other influential members of the Akpabio’s family like Sir Emem Akpabio and Prince Ukpong Akpabio who witnessed the pact between the governor and Emmanuel are to be rewarded too with state funds and strategic positions in the next government.

Akwa Ibom State used to receive as much as N27billion monthly from the Federation Account in the past, before the crash in oil price.
The Global Concord report confirms the exclusive report published by Think Akwa Ibom! some weeks ago that the Akwa Ibom First Lady was mentioned as a possible running mate to Udom Emmanuel, before Governor Akpabio, probably scared of public outrage, declined to push ahead with the idea.

Akpabio is a made man already, that pact thing you are claiming he did doesn't quite add up and what the hell is wrong with a man giving full support to his wife politically. You are just hating and it is only hungry men that publish garbage news.

  8. First of all, this report rings so false because no one I know has ever heard of this global concord whatever! If you people want to fabricate lies to tarnish the image of a good governor, you can do better than this. I'm sore disappointed in think akwaibom, I thought you people stood for the truth.

  9. Isn't it funny that you people expect smart thinking people to believe that a highly treacherous pact like this can be made and it will be public knowledge? I can't spell for your readers who enjoy sensationalism and gossip but as for me, I call bullcrap on this article. Saying Gov. Akpabio gets 27B from FG every month can you compare that to the infrastructure he has put in place in that state? Well, you never have enemies of you're doing bad, so this proves hws been doing good.
