Chief Ime Albert Akpan seems to be quietly pushing on with his 2015 governorship ambition in Akwa Ibom State, even as his younger brother Obong Bassey Albert Akpan (OBA) is also making waves across the state with his own campaign to succeed Governor Godswill Akpabio.

Think Akwa Ibom! over the weekend stumbles on Ime Albert Akpan’s campaign office within Ewet Housing Estate, Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital. He brands his campaign as 'Covenant Mission 2015', and the office is yet another proof that the Ibiono-born politician is serious about his ambition.
Ime Albert Akpan tweeted to Think Akwa Ibom! in February this year that he was “thinking about setting the record straight by contesting in the 2015 governorship”. His entry into the governorship race is however plagued by the rumour that he is sponsored by Godswill Akpabio to play the spoiler role against his younger brother, Bassey Albert Akpan’s campaign.

Chief Ime Albert Akpan in 2007 was among the promising politicians in the state when he reportedly won the primaries for the Senate election in Uyo Senatorial District, but was denied the ticket by his party, the PDP.
