Mr. Umana Okon Umana |

The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate
in Akwa Ibom State, Umana Okon Umana has confirmed a Think Akwa Ibom! story
which revealed how Governor Godswill Akpabio arrogantly told Umana “let’s see
how God will make you governor of Akwa Ibom State.
Umana told Planet FM last week that while he was serving as
the Secretary to the Akwa Ibom State Government he started soliciting for
support from politicians after Governor Akpabio told him that he should prepare
to take over from him as the next governor, and that Akpabio turned around and became
“angry that the people of Akwa Ibom had seized the process, that they were now
the ones who were driving the process.
“He (Akpabio) called me and said, “Look all these people
supporting you—Abom Tony Esu, don’t you know he is my enemy? So so so is
supporting you; when the people of Akwa Ibom have taken over the job of making
you governor, what will I do?
“And I said, “Your
Excellency, but we will have to depend on the people to make me governor, and
to depend on God.” He got angry. That was the point of departure. He got angry
and said, “You talk about God making you governor, let me see how that God will
make you Governor,” Umana told Planet FM.
Think Akwa Ibom! had exclusively reported about a stormy
meeting Governor Akpabio had with Umana who was then serving as SSG.
About two weeks before Godswill Akpabio’s wife, Unoma,
shocked the whole Akwa Ibom State when she went to the then SSG’s office,
forced out the workers there and broke in into Umana’s office, Akpabio had
visited Umana in his private residence at Ewet Housing Estate, Uyo, where both
were said to have had a stormy meeting, sources close to the governor and the
former SSG had told Think Akwa Ibom!
As reported by Think Akwa Ibom! Governor Akpabio went to the
then SSG’s house to express his disapproval and anger on Umana’s effort to
forge various political alliances in preparation for 2015 governorship
election, when he (the governor) had expressly told him to allow him be in
control of the entire process that would produce him (Umana) as the next
governor. (Click here, to
