A’Ibom: INEC staff boasts on Facebook how she rigged election for Udom Emmanuel

Victoria Holiday puts herself on the spotlight over votes rigging in Akwa Ibom State

By Nse Peter

Victoria Holiday made one foolish step when she helped rig the April 11 governorship election in Akwa Ibom State in favour of PDP candidate, Mr. Udom Emmanuel – she went on Facebook to advertise her deed.

“Am working to save Udom Emmanuel our next governor,” Holiday wrote on Facebook where she posted a photo of herself proudly holding up INEC card reader. She wore INEC vest, and was on election duty that day for the electoral commission.
In her subsequent post, she declared “we r happy to announce the untimely dead of our unfriendly brother APC who passed on to hell fire to receive judgment”.
Now, Holiday’s Facebook post has not only added credence to the widely held belief that INEC in Akwa Ibom colluded with PDP to rig the general elections in the state, but has put her on the spotlight.
APC supporters have traced Holiday to a branch of FCMB in Uyo, the capital of Akwa Ibom State, where she is working as a staff of the bank, and they have taken to the Internet to call for her arrest and punishment. The photo has gone viral on the net and will likely get into local newspapers in Akwa Ibom by weekend.
#ArrestVictoriaHoliday is trending within the Akwa Ibom community on Facebook.
“She is indeed a criminal without shame. I am told she hails from Awa, Udom Emmanuel's hometown and works with FCMB. I am calling on the security agencies to immediately launch a search for this lady and bring her to justice,” says Mr. Inibehe Effiong, a fierce human rights activist in Nigeria.
Mr. Michael Mathew, a social commentator and blogger from Akwa Ibom State says he believes that security operatives in Nigeria should be able to get useful information from Holiday. He appealed to FCMB to sack her. The bank is said to have promised to look into the matter, Think Akwa Ibom! gathered.
