Shock and surprise were visibly written on the faces of counsels to former Akwa Ibom State Governor , Chief Godswill Akpabio as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Thursday appeared before the Hon Justice Goddy Anunihu-led Akwa Ibom State National and State Houses of Assembly Election Petition Tribunal at the Customary Court, Dutsen Alhaji, Abuja.

Akpabio suffers judicial defeat, tribunal dismisses ex-governor's preliminary objection against Okori
As early as 9am the courtroom was filed to capacity. Counsels, APC supporters, journalists, tribunal staffs all took their seats in preparation for the commencement of the day's proceedings. The main agenda was the tribunals ruling on the two preliminary objections filed by former Akwa Ibom state Governor, Godswill Akpabio of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) against his rival, Chief Inibehe Okori of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

It was a session of legal fireworks between Chief Inibehe Okori and Godswill Akpabio at the Akwa Ibom State National Assembly Election Petition Tribunal sitting at the Customary Court Dutsen Alhaji on Thursday, June 18th,2015 at the resumed hearing of the petition as the tribunal witnessed torrents of legal argument for and against the motion filed by the former Akwa Ibom state Governor challenging the relocation of the tribunal from Uyo to Abuja.

the party’s senatorial candidate for the Akwa Ibom North-West senatorial
district, Chief Inibehe Okori, has said that the President-elect, Muhammadu
Buhari, will shock critics with his pronouncements on May 29.
