Kufre Etuk, member representing Uruan State Constituency in
the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, has reportedly picked the All
Progressives Congress (APC) ticket to represent the party in the election for
the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly. Etuk defected from his former party,
PDP, after Governor Godswill Akpabio and his powerful family conspired to deny
him the PDP ticket the 2015 election.
Etuk’s defection to APC, coming few days after the former Secretary to the Akwa Ibom State Government, Mr. Umana Okon Umana led a legion of PDP chieftains to defect to APC, is seen as a big minus for PDP in Akwa Ibom State. Etuk is a popular politician in Uruan which is noted for its opposition against PDP, and looks good to win the general election.
