Larry Esin reportedly defects to APC, plans to contest for governor in 2019

By Nse Peter

Mr. Larry Esin has concluded arrangement to defect from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC), News Link has reported.

News Link which is a community newspaper in Akwa Ibom State reports in its current edition that the former PDP aspirant in the 2015 Akwa Ibom governorship election is moving over to President Muhammadu Buhari’s APC as part of his preparation to contest the 2019 governorship.
“The nomadic political nature of Larry Esin seems to continue,” The paper says derogatorily, recalling Esin’s previous membership in other political parties such as CPC, PPA, and later PDP.
Esin has suffered serious political misfortunes and humiliation of late, since he abandoned the political aspirations of his Oro ethnic group and gave support to Mr. Godswill Akpabio’s protégé, Mr. Udom Emmanuel to emerge as the governor of Akwa Ibom State in April, 2015.
Governor Emmanuel reneged on his promise to appoint him as secretary to the Akwa Ibom State government, but rather asked him to serve as an ordinary member in a committee to source for foreign investments for the state, a position which many consider to be demeaning. News Link in its story said it learnt from a source that Esin is quitting PDP because he has been snubbed by the governor.
