Foremost Ekid leader, Mbong Mbong, is dead!


It’s a sad moment for Ekid people and the entire Akwa Ibom State! Obongiwad Mbong Mbong is dead. The sad news was posted on Facebook on Wednesday by Victor Effik, a journalist from Akwa Ibom. Mbong was a foremost youth leader in Eket and a former State Deputy Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Akwa Ibom. As its founding president, late Chief Mbong helped built Afigh Iwaad Ekid, the main youth organization in Ekid nation, and also shaped oil politics in Ekid for the benefit of his people.
