Renowned Communications Arts lecturer, Prof. Des Wilson has advised the Peoples Democratic Party governorship candidate in Akwa Ibom State, Mr. Udom Emmanuel to distance himself from Governor Godswill Akpabio.

Wilson who is from the same Eket Federal Constituency with Udom Emmanuel and teaches in the University of Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, said on Saturday in a message he posted on Ibom Forum, an Internet discussion group, “If our brother Udom does not wish to be seen as guilty by association he must distance himself from King Akpabio who has ruined the state's economy in the past seven years.”
He said it is left for Akwa Ibom people to forgive Akpabio if the governor is humble enough to apologise for what he has done against the state and the people. “May God grant Akpabio the humility to indeed make peace with his people whom he has sourly wronged. I wish him well in his sincere exit activities.”
On the news of the adoption of Udom Emmanuel by persons who claimed to be elders of Uyo Senatorial District, Des Wilson said, “How many of the adopters will go out there and vote for the adopted? All these are self seeking efforts.”
Wilson made headline news recently when he came out publicly to denied ever endorsing the PDP governorship aspirant in the state.
